This game is good since it can involve all age levels and can challenge the little ones to draw, discuss and play with older folks. Just a wonderful standard family game. We have several holidays that the extended family plays at the end of all the other activities in the late evening. The older folks are able to challenge the other adults, but provide enough information to not exclude the young ones. We use a whiteboard and erasable markers to make it a fully large group activity.
We had so much fun after dinner. Its hard to believe how the mind works when trying to guess some of the drawings and ideas people came up with to get their point across. I recommend this as truly a fun family game.
We played this and had tons of fun (we= an ENT resident, a law school student, one 8 year old, and some college students). You'll pick it up.Also, the game may not be "educational" per say, BUT it definitely improves young kids' vocabulary, and their knowledge of sayings and general knowledge (ex. They also learn team work and patience.that's huge. I say even if you're not in the mood, or you think people will find it lame, the chances are folks will get into it. She relaxed a little and learned to go with the happy flow as the game went on. One person's whole-hearted rendition of the USA looked like an elephant, and that cracked people up for the rest of the game. Goes to show anyone can play. "space needle" came up and several people didn't know that was a building structure in Seattle).
Tons of funny stuff came up. When rushed even the super artists begin to produce weird funny looking pictures :-) One girl was laughing so hard at this other guy's drawings that she literally had tears coming out of her eyes.Highly recommend having around. The rules are confusing at first especially with the "all play," but if you read the instructions and play every now and then, that's not a big issue. The 8y/o would keep getting frustrated at the time crunch and her confounding problem of bad drawings. Some specifics:- Easy and fun- For any age- laugh at people's funny drawings- Great interactive group game that's not based on chance like most others
I got a good deal on this hard to find game. It's a Christmas gift for my daughter that I know it will bring her and our family lots of fun to share together. Item was received in perfect condition. Thanks
The goofier the pictures, the more hilarious the game becomes. The basic idea is to get your teammate(s) to guess what you are drawing before time runs out. Pictionary is a timeless classic without a doubt. Older kids, teenagers, adults, everyone can play, and up to a fairly large group of people, too, because you are in teams. You mostly take turns, but there are some "All Play" squares on the board and dice, and then it's a race against all the other teams for an extra turn. When you guess correctly, you move your playing piece around the board, and whichever team reaches the end first wins.Whether you are an artist or not, you will love this game. Unfortunately, I can't fully explain how much fun this game is, you just have to play it and you'll see. It's amazing.
